Paul Bell- Chair
I am registered disabled as a result of an injury received serving in the Royal Navy, last year I had a hip joint replacement, and despite this I still live an active life at the age of 84. I have a strong interest in disability and was indirectly involved in drafting the Sri Lanka equivalent of the UK Act Access for the Disabled. I have lived in Sadberge for the best part of 60 years and fully appreciate the problem the disabled have living in a rural area with very limited public transport.

I have spent much of my life involved with student centred learning in the Navy and comprehensive schooling. I was elected chair of the Acute Trust for the final year of the PPI Forum.

Betty Hoy
I live in Darlington, divorced with two grown-up children. After retiring from teaching I did some voluntary work for Citizens Advice Bureau and became a member of GOLD. When the PPI Forum was formed, I became a member of the hospital forum and as such was involved with local and hospital health issues. I am a Governor for the Darlington area on the Foundation Trust’s Governing Council. The committees on which I sit are the Strategic and Governance and Risk and they are principally concerned with the areas that effect older patients and their welfare.

Alizon Robson-WRVS
I currently work as the Project Manager for WRVS Community Support Project. I provide community based support to clients who require low level support. This help can range from befriending to assisted shopping – rather like the tasks that family members would normally offer. I am passionate about ensuring that they have the choices and freedom that they are entitled to and will continue to work to improve the provision of services.
